Electrofusion welding machines are a safe and high quality welding method that allows PE pipes and fittings to be joined by heating with low voltage over resistance wire.
1. Preparation
Make sure that the pipe and fitting are suitable for the diameter and material type.
Install the electrofusion machine on a flat and dry surface.
Make sure it is operating at the appropriate voltage (usually 230V).
2. Cleaning and Marking of Pipe Ends
The pipe surface must be cleaned of the oxide layer. Use a pipe scraper for this operation.
Welding should never be done without cleaning the surface.
A marking is made on the pipe up to the center of the fitting.
3. Assembly
The pipe and fitting must be aligned and fixed (mechanical clamps are used).
No movement is critical for weld quality.
4. Welding Process
Connect the terminal ends of the electrofusion machine to the cable outlets on the fitting.
Have the machine scan the barcode on the fitting (if automatic parameter reading is available).
You can also enter parameters manually (such as voltage, duration).
Start the welding process by pressing the “Start” button.
Do not intervene until the welding time is complete.
5. Cooling and Control
Do not move the pipe and fitting during the cooling period.
The weld evenness is checked in the control windows on the fitting.
A tightness test is recommended after welding.
⚠️ Safety and Cautions
Work in an environment away from rain, moisture and mud.
It is safe as there is no high voltage output during use, but care must be taken.
Make sure the cables and connectors are secure.
Do not allow children and unauthorized persons to interfere with the work.
